Tsitsi Masiyiwa and Riana Pfefferkorn

Tsitsi Masiyiwa is Chair of Co-Impact, a global philanthropic collaborative, and the END Fund, which is dedicated to ending neglected tropical diseases. Masiyiwa is also Founder and Chair of the Higherlife Foundation, focused on investing in human-capital development, and Delta Philanthropies, which aims to unlock and catalyze innovative solutions to poverty by convening strategic partnerships and incubating new development models.

Masiyiwa works at the intersection of education, health, and economic opportunity, emphasizing support for locally-rooted coalitions working to achieve impact at scale in Africa and beyond.

Masiyiwa urges formal donors to do more to enhance the impact of the continent’s largest source of development funding.

Riana Pfefferkorn is a research scholar at the Stanford Internet Observatory. She previously served as Associate Director of Surveillance and Cybersecurity at the Stanford Center for Internet and Society, and was a member of the Internet Strategy and Litigation group at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she worked on litigation and counseling matters involving issues like online privacy, Internet intermediary liability, and consumer protection.

Pfefferkorn’s work focuses on analyzing the role of encryption in free expression, political engagement, and economic development, and assessing government policies for forcing decryption and/or influencing the design of online platforms, services, and products.
